What About Gifts?

I do not want any gifts (including gag gifts) — I’m the last person who needs gifts!

But I am accepting donations for two great projects in the Upper Galilee region of Israel, which is partnered with the Ottawa Jewish Community and five other Canadian Jewish communities.
These are two worthy (and non-political) projects: Music and dance scholarships to the Clore Centre, which serves the entire region; and a Holocaust education trip to Poland for high school students from Yesod Ham’alah, a community just north of the Hula Valley.

Some people have asked if there are traditional or expected amounts for donations. In Judaism, we like to do things in multiples of 18, which is the alphanumeric equivalent to the Hebrew word Chai, which means life. But we’ll accept any donations!
